“Solitaire”

This is probably my favourite photo so far in the portfolio. I love the silhouette of the fisherman, the lights of Fremantle in the distance, and the colours of the ocean and the sunset. I feel like this photo challenged me to explore with different apertures, ISO and shutter speeds; taking various photos before finding the correct settings.

In editing I have emphasised the colours of the sunset and ocean, made the silhouette more predominant, and highlighted the light hitting the water.

If I could have taken this photo again I would have wished to do it with a different lens, so I could’ve attempted to get a better range.
