I looked at how radical feminist discourse presents gender roles in written media, focusing on lifestyle magazines for men and women. Through the magazine covers I highlight the patriarchal portrayal of society, where men are optimized and women are objectified. Men are portrayed as masculine heterosexuals who supress women. While women are portrayed as objects whose only goal is to satisfy men in by striving to look perfect, be exceptional sex partners and cook great food.
