“Lys”
- Shot on a Nikon d3100 on a wooden table outside
- Aperture: f/4.2
- ISO: 100
- Shutter speed: 1/5
For the keyword ‘light’ I wanted to attempt to get a shot with the bokeh effect. I styled the ‘set’ in various ways with different candles and fairly light in the background, to provide the bokeh effect with depth of field.
I kept the ISO at 100 to minimise noise and kept the aperture as large as I could to achieve depth of field. Later I edited the shot in Photoshop and Camera RAW to highlight the bokeh effect and used adjustment brushes to make the jar clearer and highlight the shells supporting the tealight candle.
I like the light and warmth in the photo. However, if I was to change anything I would probably minimise the number of candles to just the one in the jar and attempt to get larger bokeh.
